DeMarcus “Dee” Milliner was a shutdown cornerback at Alabama from 2010-12; however, the former Crimson Tide standout has been plagued by injuries in the National Football League. According to Rich Cimini of ESPN, Milliner will miss six to eight weeks due to a tendon injury in his wrist. He hurt his wrist in Thursday’s practice and underwent surgery Friday.

Milliner, who was the ninth overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, has missed games more times than not. An Achilles tendon tear caused him to miss 13 games last season.

He sat out during 2014 preseason because of a high ankle sprain.

Milliner’s injuries have stemmed from his days at Alabama. He encountered five different surgeries in his tenure with the Crimson Tide. New York’s secondary is already thin with backup safety Antonio Allen out for the season (Achilles).
