With Super Bowl LVII marking the end of the 2022 NFL season in just one day, we have officially begun the time of year when NFL teams prepare for the April NFL Draft, and one NFL executive believes there is not much of a gap between Bryce Young and CJ Stroud.
“The gap between Young and CJ Stroud isn’t as big as you’d think,” the executive told ESPN.
AFC scout believes that Alabama QB Bryce Young weight "as low as 168 pounds" earlier in his Alabama career, according to ESPN.
Young is now "officially" listed at 6'0, 194 pounds

Throughout the next few months, it will be challenging to differentiate between what is a rumor and what is actually being said amongst people in the NFL Draft community.
The presumed top two quarterbacks in this year’s draft are Alabama’s Young and Ohio State’s Stroud. Both quarterbacks finished their college careers with nearly identical stat lines.
Bryce Young: 8,356 yards passing, 162 yards rushing, 87 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions.
CJ Stroud: 8,123 yards passing, 136 yards rushing, 86 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions.
As far as Heisman Trophy voting goes, Young won the award in 2021, but Stroud finished top-five in voting both in 2021 and 2022. The information listed above and the stature of Young, have at least one NFL executive believing that the skill gap between both players isn’t as high as originally thought.
Ohio State has its Pro Day set for March 22nd and Alabama has it’s Pro Day scheduled for March 23rd. We will more than likely see both Stroud and Young put on a show one last time for their schools on these dates.
