Houston Texans cornerback, Derek Stingley apparently feels snubbed after seeing Denver Broncos cornerback, Pat Surtain II come away as the winner of the 2024 AP Defensive Player of the Year Award.
Stingley made this apparent on Thursday night via X by posting a meme moments after Surtain II announced the recipient of the leagues highest defensive honor.
The meme he used was a call back to Lebron James and the Cavaliers coming back from being down 3-1 to win the NBA Championship.

Over a 17-game season, Stingley recorded 18 pass breakups, five interceptions, and 37 solo tackles, including four tackles for loss. These numbers by Stingley were enough to be selected to his first All AP defensive team, while also grabbing his first Pro Bowl selection. Despite this impressive performance, Stingley was not a 2024 finalist for the Defensive Player of the Year award.
