Alabama starting center calls Week 1 holding penalty ‘BS’

Alabama football’s starting center Racin Delgatty had a holding penalty called on him versus ECU that negated a rushing touchdown by freshman running back Trae’Shawn Brown.

Delgatty was asked about the holding call on Tuesday when speaking to reporters.

“Everyone’s seen it,” Delgatty said. “Everyone knows it was BS. Even the coaches right after it were like, ‘Don’t worry about it. That was not a good call.”‘

If not for a phantom holding call on the C Racin Delgatty, this would have been 6.

The Crimson Tide came out on top in Week 1, but the penalties piled up early in the game. Alabama finished with six penalties for 29 penalty yards.

However, the holding penalty called on Delgatty is flag that commentators, coaches and media members think should have been picked up or never thrown at all.

Alabama will face Kentucky in Lexington this Saturday, and the Crimson Tide will hope to play penalty-free football in this conference road game.
