In the first half of Alabama’s 52-3 win over Arkansas, a controversial play occurred during a punt return from wide receiver DeVonta Smith.
Smith, who had previously returned a punt 84-yards for a touchdown, brought back another for a decent return before getting tackled by Razorbacks tight end Nathan Bax.
But during the tackle, Bax attempted a “gator roll” tackle where he twisted the leg of Smith with intentions to injure the star receiver. Luckily for Smith, he was not injured on the play and finished the game completely healthy.
It wasn’t long after when Alabama fans voiced their opinions and reactions to the dirty play:
I've got a lot of respect for Pittman, but he better take care of this. Dirty. https://t.co/CHK0ACXkKS

Dismiss this trash player immediately from the program… just because the football team sucks and emotions get in the way does not give you the right to start playing dirty @RazorbackFB @CoachSamPittman @HunterYurachek https://t.co/FvyQlZ5rmd
