Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones took the field Monday night, two weeks after signing a five-year extension worth $71.25 million ($47 million guaranteed).
The former Alabama standout dominated Philadelphia’s secondary, totaling nine catches for 141 yards and two touchdowns (led team). Jones averaged 15.7 yards per catch, and his touchdown receptions came on catches of four and 22 yards.
Atlanta’s quarterback Matt Ryan targeted Jones 11 times against the Eagles.
His five-year extension made him the second-highest paid receiver in the National Football League, behind Calvin Johnson of the Detroit Lions. Atlanta edged out Philadelphia 26-24 at home, and will head to MetLife Stadium next week for a meeting against the New York Giants.
