Alabama NFL Draft Prospects

ArDarius Stewart speaks highly of former Alabama WR and NFL prospect Calvin Ridley

We have already seen the National Football League site and former Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne compare him to Marvin Harrison, but ArDarius Stewart decided to add more on the conversation of Calvin Ridley during his interview on Good Morning Football.

On Tuesday’s show, the third-round pick of the 2017 NFL Draft spoke on Ridley’s work ethic and overall mentality. Stewart, a former University of Alabama standout, said the two-time national champion and top receiver for 2018 draft class is ‘always trying to find a way to get better.’

“That’s little bro right there,” Stewart said of Ridley.

“A young guy with a mentality of an older veteran… That’s someone you want on your team. He is going to be one of those guys that blocks, catches the ball and does everything you want him to do. He is a quiet guy, but he leads by his actions. So, that’s one guy that I would love to be a guy on my team.”

Stewart and Ridley were huge factors on Alabama’s 2015 national championship squad, as both totaled over 500 yards receiving. Ridley, a freshman then, had 89 catches for 1,045 receiving yards with seven touchdowns. Stewart, on the other hand, brought in 700 yards and four touchdowns on 63 receptions. In the following season, it was Stewart leading the team in both receiving yards (864) and scores (8) — despite the Tide falling to Clemson in the title game.

With the draft scheduled for April 26, it will be interesting to see where Ridley goes.
