Dolphins have a coaching staff to assure Tua Tagovailoa’s success

Tua Tagovailoa celebrates victory for Dolphins over Ravens on Thursday Night Football

Tua Tagovailoa has smiled more with Mike McDaniel than in two years under Brian Flores.

McDaniel has assured Tagovailoa and others that he will make the third-year quarterback into a star. He is showing his dedication by assembling a dynamic roster of offensive coaches. McDaniel will call the plays, but he hired Wes Welker (wide receivers coach), Frank Smith (offensive coordinator), and Darrell Bevell (quarterbacks coach/passing game coordinator).

Welker was one of the best slot receivers in NFL history. He will improve the Dolphins’ receiver room and Smith will work closely with McDaniel. Bevell, 52, will be huge for Tagovailoa. He has coached three dynamic quarterbacks — Brett Favre, Russell Wilson, and Matthew Stafford — and all are Super Bowl Champions. Bevell won an NFL Championship with Seattle in the 2013 season.

If he can get Tagovailoa to play like Wilson, Bevell will unlock a game-changer.

He’s dealt with media criticism for two seasons. Tagovailoa is prepared to silence his haters. McDaniel is about seeing the native Hawaiian excel, and he is putting the right coaches around him.
