Alabama football is working on building its 2027 class, and Ja’Hyde Brown is a big target for the Crimson Tide.
Brown is a 2027 wide receiver recruit out of Christian Academy in Louisville, Kentucky. He holds offers from Alabama, Kentucky. Oklahoma, Louisville, Vanderbilt and others.
The Crimson Tide offered the junior during the summer after he impressed at camp and were able to get him back on campus for an unofficial visit on Saturday. The visit allowed the Tide to show Brown he was wanted in Tuscaloosa.
“It was an amazing game-day atmosphere,” Brown said. “That place was rocking. Coaches were amazing, reassured me all day that I’m their guy in the slot for the 2027 class, told me if I’m ready to commit, I can today and if I want to wait I can do that as well. There’s no pressure but wanted to let me know that they’re ready if I am, very transparent with me while there.”
Kalen DeBoer has been in contact with Brown as of late. The Alabama head coach FaceTimed him recently and spent some time with the Kentucky product on Saturday.
“I can tell they watch my film weekly just from the conversations with the offensive coaches and coach DeBoer,” Brown told Touchdown Alabama. “I FaceTimed with Coach DeBoer last week, and it was a cool experience for sure, but to meet him in person was a whole different experience. They are really taking the time to get to know who I am as a player and person.”
Other members of Alabama’s staff are actively recruiting Brown hard including, Alabama wide receiver coach JaMarcus Shephard and Alabama Associate Director of Player Personnel Eron Hodges.
“Coach Shep is a high-energy guy,” said Brown. “It’s always good to see and talk with Coach Shep. Also, can’t forget my guy coach Hodges, we have a wonderful relationship as well. You would think he was a part of my family the way we communicate about serious things and about things we can joke and laugh about. Just the entire staff does a great job with the entire recruiting process. I can see myself in that crimson uniform and making big plays in Saban Field at Bryant–Denny Stadium for sure.”
At 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds, Brown is an explosive wide receiver, who brings a dynamic skillset to the football field. He is been making plays throughout the season for Christian Academy.
