Alabama feels Orange Beach 6-foot-6 tight end fits their system

Lee Steele was back in Tuscaloosa Tuesday on a visit with the Crimson Tide.

Steele is a 2028 tight-end prospect, and he holds an impressive offer list with offers from Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Ole Miss, Tennessee and others. He feels his latest visit to Alabama was a great one.

The Orange Beach High School sophomore is confident in the Tide’s new tight ends coach Richard Owens.

“Coach Owens is elite, and his tight ends will be too,” Steele told Touchdown Alabama. “I think they are gonna be deep and physical.”

The 6-foot-6 athlete is an intriguing prospect because of the way he moves fluidly at his size. He is expected to be a big receiving threat at the next level, with the upside to develop into a complete tight end. Alabama sees him as a player who could fit into their system.

“They made it clear that Alabama is about developing complete players on and off the field,” Steele said. “The message to me was that I fit what they’re looking for at tight end — size, versatility and the ability to impact the game in multiple ways. They emphasized competing at the highest level every day, being coached hard, and earning everything. I really felt like they see me as a guy who can grow in their system and be developed for the next level.”

Touchdown Alabama recently put eyes on Steele recently at the Under Armour New Orleans camp when he stood out with his size and athleticism.

Teams from across the country are expected to continue to push for Steele.
