Alabama football grabbed a marquee five-star talent in its 2014 class from Hoover (Ala.) High School, but the former standout of the Nick Saban era has given back to the program in a huge way.
Marlon Humphrey, a cornerback, was a College Football Playoff National Champion, three-time Southeastern Conference Champion, and first-team All-American (2016) for the Crimson Tide. He has been with the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League for seven years after getting selected in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Humphrey has been a leader in the Ravens’ organization; however, the University of Alabama appreciates him for what he did for the College of Communication and Information Sciences. According to Jack Knowlton of TideIllustrated, Humphrey donated $250,000 to UA’s CIS department to create to create a lecture series on sports broadcasting. He also donated $50,000 to UA’s adapted athletics program to provide equipment and travel funds for wheelchair athletes. Humphrey is another former Saban player that’s giving back the right way.
