More details released on accident that claimed the life of former Alabama DB, Khyree Jackson

Condolences are pouring in on social media by the boatloads for former Alabama defensive back, Khyree Jackson, and his friends that tragically passed away Friday night in a car accident.

College teammates, NFL teammates, and the NFL world are praying for comfort for Jackson’s family.

According to several reports from the Maryland State Police, more details have been released on the accident that claimed Jackson’s life and the lives of his friends. In the report, the fatal crash happened at Prince George’s County. Jackson was pronounced dead on the scene by emergency medical service personnel. He was in the passenger seat of a maroon Dodge Charger.

Cori Clingman, the driver of a silver Infiniti, was the individual who hit Jackson and his friends. The report states Clingman was traveling at high speeds heading northbound of Route 4/Pennsylvania Avenue in Prince George’s County. Clingman had two other passengers in her Infiniti, but no one was injured. She also hit a Chevrolet Impala, but no one in that car was injured.

According to investigators, alcohol may have been a contributing circumstance in the crash.

Jackson, 24, was a star athlete at Wise High School. He went to Fort Scott Community College for one season in 2020, and then transferred to the University of Alabama from 2021 to 2022. Jackson was on the Crimson Tide’s 2021 Southeastern Conference Championship and College Football Playoff team. He was also on Alabama’s 2022 Allstate Sugar Bowl Championship team.

He spent his final season at the University of Oregon where he made first-team All-Pac-12 in 2023.

Jackson was selected in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings.

He will be greatly missed.
