Alabama DC Kane Wommack on sophomore DB: “His stock arrow is going up”

Alabama Defensive Back Chuck McDonald III (19) during practice at Thomas-Drew Practice Fields in Tuscaloosa, AL on Sunday, Mar 8, 2026.

Alabama defensive back Chuck McDonald lll could find himself with an increased role to begin the year after freshman Jireh Edwards suffered a significant upper body injury during practice last week.

McDonald is a talented sophomore with promising potential and upside. The defensive back has reportedly played at an extremely high level as fall camp winds down, and McDonald may emerge as a major contributor in the Tide’s secondary while Edwards remains sidelined.
