After seven fall practices, the Alabama football team will have its first live action scrimmage on today. With the players taking part in a game-like atmosphere, here are five big questions proceeding the team for the exhibition.

1. Who wins the starting job at center?

Alex Leatherwood confirmed this week that Evan Neal has moved from left guard to right tackle. The Crimson Tide has four of five spots figured out on the offensive line, but center is unsolved.

The trio of Chris Owens, Emil Ekiyor Jr., and Darrian Dalcourt are battling for the starting job. Whoever consistently executes well today will go a long way into potentially winning the job.

2. Who becomes the No. 2 RB behind Najee Harris?

Alabama likes to have a rotation of running backs, but which player complements Najee Harris the best this season?

Brian Robinson Jr. and Trey Sanders will figure it out today.

Both players are versatile, but Sanders has gotten the majority of attention throughout the summer. The redshirt freshman has the combination of speed, power, vision, pass-catching and explosiveness that Nick Saban likes at the position.

3. How will the secondary shake out?

With experience and talent returning to the defensive front, all eyes will be on Alabama's secondary. Patrick Surtain II has the most experience -- 28 career starts -- but this season is huge for Josh Jobe, Jordan Battle, Daniel Wright, DeMarcco Hellams, Ronald Williams Jr. and others that look to make an impact.

True freshman, Brian Branch is battling for an opportunity to start at "star" in the nickel package.

Jalyn Armour-Davis is in the competition as well. The question will be how fast, physical and instinctive can this group play together?

4. Which QB has the best command of the offense?

This may be the biggest question of the scrimmage.

Alabama has one of the best, if not the best, quarterback rooms in all of college football.

Mac Jones is the leader in the room as a redshirt junior, but Bryce Young (true freshman) has been the conversation all offseason. Between the two, it will come down to which can have the offense to be balanced and explosive while not turning the ball over. Also, a chance is there for Paul Tyson to continue the growth and surge he's been on all summer long.

5. Will the kicking game finally turn a corner for Alabama?

It has not had a consistent kicker since Jeremy Shelley in 2012, but Will Reichard is back healthy. A three-star from Hoover (Ala.) High School, he came in the 2019 signing class and said he would 'fix the kicking woes.'

A hip flexor versus Southern Mississippi forced him to miss the rest of the season, aside from the matchup against Tennessee, yet he was captured on video making 60+ yard kicks off the dirt.

Alabama is literally a kicker away from being special and if it can get a strong outing from Reichard today, it would be huge moving forward.
