Mike Norvell tells what Florida State needs to do to stop Alabama on offense

Mike Norvell has a lot of respect for the Alabama football offense and its returning experience.

Norvell and the Seminoles will host the Alabama Crimson Tide Saturday in Tallahassee to kick off their 2025 season. Alabama’s experienced offensive line and wide receiver room are strengths of the Tide, per Norvell.

“It’s going to be a great challenge,” Norvell said. “You look at Alabama, what they do offensively, they got a very experienced offensive line, big, strong, powerful. You look at how they utilize the tight end position and creating different surfaces, movements, all the window dressing to really be able to play downhill, and then they’re going to push the ball vertically down the field. I think it’s probably one of the best receiving corps in the country, some very talented players that will align all over the place.”

The Florida State head coach feels there has to be an emphasis on players winning their individual matchups in Saturday’s contest.

“So, you’ve got to be locked in on matchups.” Norvell told reporters. “You got to be locked in on leverages, understanding what’s your job, what’s your task, and what you’re trying to take away and you got to be aggressive. I mean, this is a team that if you don’t bring it every snap, I mean, they absolutely will expose you.”

Alabama and Florida State go to battle at 2:30 p.m. CST on Saturday.
