The wait is nearly over. Since the 2025 schedule was released, this weekend’s matchup between No. 17 Alabama and No. 5 Georgia has been circled.

Georgia (3-0, 1-0) enters the matchup riding a 33-game home winning streak. That presents a tough challenge for Alabama (2-1, 0-0), which has lost its last three games away from Bryant-Denny Stadium, including a disappointing 31-17 defeat at Florida State to begin the season.

Despite winning nine of its last 10 meetings against Georgia, Alabama enters Saturday’s game as a 3.5-point underdog. The Crimson Tide holds a 44-26-4 advantage in its previous 74 matchups against the Bulldogs. That includes a 41-34 victory during last year’s game inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Here are five questions we have heading into this weekend’s matchup.

Can Alabama contain Gunner Stockton?

Mobile quarterbacks have been Kane Wommack’s kryptonite during his time as Alabama’s defensive coordinator.

During Alabama’s five losses over the past two years, only once has a quarterback thrown for more than 250 yards — Vanderbilt’s Diego Pavia (16 of 20 for 252 yards and two touchdowns). However, four of those five losses have seen the opposing quarterback gain 40 or more yards on the ground. That includes Florida State’s Tommy Castellanos, who carried the ball 16 times for 78 yards and a touchdown during Alabama’s season-opening loss last month.
