Just two months after the arrests of offensive tackle Cameron Robinson and safety Laurence “Hootie” Jones, another critical member of Alabama’s 2016 group was arrested Sunday morning.

Alphonse “Shank” Taylor, who enters his senior year in the fall, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence (DUI), according to the Tuscaloosa County Police Department.

Taylor’s bond is set at a $1,000.

The 6-foot-5, 345-pound lineman enters his second season as a starter at right guard. He’s played in 35 career games, since enrolling at Alabama in 2012 as a four-star prospect. Taylor started all 15 games in 2015, guiding running back Derrick Henry to 2,219 rushing yards and 28 touchdowns on 395 carries. He finished with a team-high 57 knockdown blocks, while missing only 12 assignments in 15 games.
