Reinhold Matay - USA Today Sports

The 2019 season for Alabama ended on a positive note.

Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide earned a 35-16 victory over Michigan in the Citrus Bowl at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Fla. Mac Jones, redshirt sophomore, had his second career 300-yard passing (322) performance and tossed three touchdowns. Najee Harris recorded his sixth 100-yard rushing game of the year, totaling 136 yards with two scores on 24 carries. At wide receiver, Jerry Jeudy was the game’s Most Valuable Player, recording 204 yards on six catches with one touchdown.

Despite having some issues against Michigan’s run game, the Tide’s defense played better in the second half.

Alabama recorded two interceptions off Shea Patterson, while the duo of Xavier McKinney and Anfernee Jennings each collected 10 tackles apiece. During the postgame presser, Jeudy, Jones and McKinney all joined Saban at the podium.

Saban was proud of the effort shown by his team and all three players wanted to show Crimson Tide fans that this group has the capability to finish the season strong. Regardless of this not being a College Football Playoff game, Alabama finishes the year at 11-2 and enters the offseason with confidence.
